As Digital Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing Vermont PBS’ social media content, growth and effectiveness.  In this role, you will create, coordinate, and propel our social media marketing to new heights. We are seeking someone with strong experience working on social media strategy, as well as creating content and managing/building organic relationships across all social channels.

Manage all social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google + and Instagram

Develop a social media strategy and set goals to increase brand awareness and increase engagement

Plan content and delivery and use tools like Hootsuite and Buffer to manage multiple social media channels

Form key relationships with influencers across the social media platforms

Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions

Continuously improve the social media strategy by gathering and analyzing the appropriate social data, metrics, insights and best practices, and then creating action plans

Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to identify digital content needs and priorities

Define standards and guidelines for digital content creation, maintenance and governance

Provide digital best practices alignment for social creative campaigns

Skills & Experience

Proven track record of success driving engagement and producing digital content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, etc.

Solid understanding of the digital and social media universe including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn, blogs, etc. and the desire and ability to stay up to date and learn new platforms as they become important

Basic graphic design capabilities with the ability to create, edit, crop, color-correct graphic images in Photoshop or Canva a plus

Experience establishing and managing a content calendar and plan

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and flawless spelling, grammar, editing and proofreading skills

Meticulous attention to detail; strong organizational skills

Knowledge of SEO best practices and HTML is a plus

Experience working with project management systems such as Teamwork, Trello, etc.
